Online Application for the 2021-22 School Year

Deadline: January 29, 2021

Virtual Information Night

Here's a recording of our Virtual Information Night from January 7.

Dear Applicant,

Thank you so much for considering Ghidotti. Usually Ghidotti is described as “a high school on a college campus.” That’s true, and our students do complete up to two years of college. But to me, that’s not why Ghidotti is special. Ghidotti is special because we’re a tight-knit community. We’re a group with diverse backgrounds and goals. We’re friends who look after each other. We are family. The students and staff are proud of our school and are eager to learn more about you through this application process.

As Ghidotti’s principal, I’m often asked what type of student we are looking for when reviewing applications. Ghidotti is looking for students who hope to go to college, are at grade level, and enjoy a small learning community. We especially encourage students to apply who would benefit most from free college in a supportive environment, such as students in low income families and students whose parents did not graduate from college.

A note about this year: COVID has impacted just about every aspect of our lives and Ghidotti's application process is no different. Most years we screen applicants to make sure they're at grade-level (ready for 9th grade math, English, and Biology), but this year the usual measurements are either unavailable or unreliable. So, we're going to assume all applicants are at grade-level. If there are more applicants than spaces available, selection will be made through a lottery.

We're still collecting report cards and will have accepted students take reading and math assessments, but we're only using this information to understand what supports and services Ghidotti will need to offer. We'll also share the assessment results with families, so they can decide if Ghidotti is a good fit.

Please review the "Steps to Applying" below -- make sure you follow them exactly. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call Ghidotti’s office at (530) 274-5270.

Respectfully,

Noah Levinson

Principal, Ghidotti Early College High School
