The Magnetospheric Science Research Lab at the Center for Solar-Terrestrial Research (CSTR) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) conducts research on the effects of solar emissions, including radiation and charged particles, on Earth's geomagnetic environment and human technologies.
Current research topics include:
Space-borne and ground-based observations of geomagnetic field variations and particle dynamics to study magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling;
Development of autonomous power platforms and geospace science instruments for deployment in polar regions, including Canada, Greenland, Svalbard, and Antarctica;
Citizen-science investigations of the geospace environment using personal space weather. stations.
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program providing undergraduate students an opportunity to conduct solar-terrestrial research for the summer.
