As much as I love to believe that this is the Mantra I live by effortlessly, time and again I have realized how hard it is to choose between what is right and what is easy. Regardless, I aspire to master abilities that will guide me to choose between what is wrong and what is easy.
I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick in the School of Communications and Information Science under the guidance of Professors Vivek K. Singh and Fred Roberts. My position is funded by the Department of Homeland Security's University Program through CAOE at Arizona State University.
I completed my PhD in Computer Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology in December 2024 advised by Dr. Guiling Grace Wang. I am also a Graduate Teaching Assistant at NJIT (Working as both an Instructor and a Grader for undergraduate and graduate level CS courses). I have completed two summer internships in 2023 and 2022 at Qualcomm AI Research in San Diego at their headquarter.
I received my Bachelors degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BRAC University, Bangladesh with a thesis in the area of Natural Language Processing and Unsupervised Machine Learning, which earned a perfect score and resulted in an IEEE publication.
My latest research is mostly surrounded by Deep Learning, especially in NLP. I have been studying numerous state-of-the-art Large Language Models that takes advantage of the parallelization power of the Transformer architecture. My latest work have been focused on Prompt-Engineering and In-context learning for generative language models. I have also researched on Data Augmentation for Text Classification, Financial Technology with NLP and Reinforcement Learning and have a few publications on it listed in ACL Anthology, ACM and IEEE.
I worked as an Assistant Manager - Online Product in Galileo Bangladesh Ltd (GBL), a concern of MGH Group. GBL represents Travelport, a Global Distribution System, in Bangladesh. My key responsibilities include, on-boarding Travel Agents to Online based products, deployment of Travelport universal API, research and deploy apps and plug-ins for the GDS system, etc. I am fortunate to have collaborated with 20+ different developer teams world-wide, which speaks to my communication skills, not only in English, but also in Hindi and Bangla.
I love singing, playing the guitar and the piano and making sketches. In my high school years, I was actively involved in a Recitation Organization for 7 years and performed over 50 stage performances all around the country. I have recently received a Language Impact Award of USD 2500 from Duolingo for my outstanding contribution to the Duolingo Incubator as a Volunteer Course Contributor.
