Dr. R. Arun Kumar, has joined as Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology Warangal, in the forenoon of 27 December 2024. 

Dr. R. Arun Kumar has acquired his Ph.D. degree from the Anna University Chennai in the year 2009. He has completed his post-doctoral research in the prestigious Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan. He has earlier served as a teaching faculty in the PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, and the National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh. In his more than 15 years of teaching service, he has guided 11 research scholars for their Ph.D. degree and few research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. at present under his research supervision. He has implemented sponsored research projects to the tune of INR one crore funded by SERB, UGC, UGC-DAE, IUAC, M/s. Indfurr Superheat Furnaces, and etc. 

He has published more than 65 research articles in internationally-reputed journals and Conference proceedings. He has held various administrative positions including Head of the Department (School), Research Centre Head, Associate Dean (Faculty Welfare), Institute-NIRF and NBA Coordinator, etc. He also presently supports the administration of NIT Warangal as Warden of Hostel, Member of Institute Ranking Committee and Member of Stock Verification Committee, etc.
