Hello, I am Dr. Mainak Basu, presently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the National Institute of Technology Raipur.

Prior to joining as Assistant Professor, I was working as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering of ETH Zurich, Switzerland. I have completed my Ph.D. studies from the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India and M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering from VIT University, Vellore, India. My research includes integration of MEMS, Microfluidics, Soft Matter, and Interfacial Phenomena in Biomedical Engineering to develop Biosensors, Microactuators, Lab on chip, and Point of care devices to address different diseases and health hazards in an affordable way.

I was awarded with ETH Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct Postdoctoral research in the year 2022, CBMR Travel Grant Award in the year 2019 for attending MicroTAS Conference, and MHRD Fellowship in the year 2015 for pursuing Ph.D. at IIT Kharagpur.
