Dear families,
Welcome to our attendance resourcse site, a dedicated space where we share valuable information, tips, and resources to support consistent student attendance across our district. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success, and together, we can create a strong foundation that promotes learning, engagement, and achievement for every child.
Here you will find strategies for improving attendance, insights into the impact of absences, and stories celebrating our students’ commitment to being present and ready to learn. We believe that by working collaboratively with families, educators, and community partners, we can overcome attendance challenges and ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Every Student, Every Day!
Why is Daily Attendance Important?
1. Supports Academic Success
Regular attendance ensures students don’t miss out on key lessons, allowing them to keep up with the curriculum and perform better on tests and assignments.
2. Builds Consistency and Routine
Being at school every day helps students develop strong habits and a routine, which are essential skills for future success both in education and later in life.
3. Promotes Social and Emotional Growth
Daily attendance gives students the chance to interact with peers and teachers, building important relationships and social skills that contribute to a positive school experience.
4. Prevents Learning Gaps
Missing school frequently can cause gaps in knowledge that become harder to fill over time, making it difficult for students to catch up and stay on track.

Compulsory Attendance vs. Attendance for Credit: What's the Difference?
Compulsory Attendance
Age Requirement: All children ages 6–19 must attend school.
Pre-K & Kindergarten: Once enrolled, state attendance laws apply.
Truancy: A student is considered truant after 10+ unexcused absences.
Schools issue warning letters and an attendance improvement plan before reaching 10 unexcused absences.
If absences continue, truancy charges will be filed against the student, parent, or both.
Attendance for Credit (The 90% Rule)
Students must attend at least 90% of the time to earn credit for a class.
All absences count (excused and unexcused).
Missing more than 10% of school days requires make-up time.
Options include ECO (Extended Classroom Opportunity) or Saturday School.
Scheduled through the assistant principal’s office.
