William Gilbert

My name is William Gilbert and I am a graduate of the University of North Texas. I graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Russian. My academic focus was application development and project management. I learned several programming languages including JAVA, C/C++, PHP, and Python. I am also familiar with HTML5 web development tools: HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as database software: Microsoft Access and mySQL.

Prior to completing my degree at UNT, I served for 12 years in the United States Air Force as a Russian linguist. During that time I earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Russian from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and an Associate of Arts Degree in Information Technology from American Public University. I also speak Spanish and Chechen. While my career field was linguistics, my leadership chose me to fill a management role for our information technology support and logistics office. In this capacity I had the opportunity to learn other aspects of business such as cost center management, government purchasing, training management, facilities management, physical security, and information security.

I am a family man. I am married now for 20 years and have 3 wonderful children and a grandson. My family is my life and my joy, second only to my service to God. When I am not working or studying, I spend every available minute with them.

I had the privilege of opening Eaton High School, have loved every minute watching it grow and develop, and I am excited for the opportunity to serve the Eaton High School community for many more years as a teacher!
