Please be aware that in order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, the district has adopted a call system to gain access to any NISD building. Please watch this video for information on how to use this system efficiently. Thank you so much for helping our Cougars stay safe!
Water bottles should include only clear water and be in a closed container. Straws will not be allowed. We have water bottle filling stations throughout the building.
We love celebrating birthdays, students are allowed to bring a birthday trinket to pass out to classmates. These trinkets include, but not limited to pencils, pens, yo-yos, slinkies stamps, etc. We will not be allowing edible birthday treats.
We understand that the afternoons can be long, and kiddos (and teachers) need a snack so we have energy for learning. We will have snacks at 1:45 and all students are welcome to have a water bottle with them in all classes. Please make sure that only water is brought to class in a bottle that can be completely closed (no open drinking spouts) and the snacks are healthy and will not make a mess. Thank you!
In order for students to be able to move safely, they must wear tennis shoes to PE. If your student wears a skirt or a dress to school, please be sure they are wearing shorts underneath so they can feel comfortable moving.
We know that joining your child for lunch is a special time, and we would like to protect that special time by asking that no other students join you and your child in the cafeteria. We have special tables reserved for adult guests and their students.
