Third graders get the chance to participate in cabbage growing contest this year! Each third grade student will come home with a cabbage and growing guide.
Visit bonniecabbageprogram.com to learn the proper steps for caring and harvesting your (hopefully) humongous cabbage! Once your cabbage is fully grown, you’ll need to weigh it and take a “high resolution” image of yourself and your cabbage, then submit it to your 3rd Grade teacher, or submit on our website under the “Submit to Win” tab. You will then be eligible to win $1,000 scholarship towards education and statewide recognition as your state’s Cabbage Program winner!
Parents: Please visit bonniecabbageprogram.com to view an informative “parent” video and show your child the “student” video, both videos will be helpful to you! Submissions MUST BE turned in to your 3rd Grade teacher or submitted to our website no later than September 30, 2024, even though you’ve already moved on to the 4th Grade.
Parents- Please label your students items (hats, scarves, jackets, etc) with your child's first and last name. Our lost and found gets pretty full around this season when weather is cold in the morning but hot during recess and students shed those jackets and hats. All items that are labeled are returned to students.
All volunteers need to complete a background check. We would recommend still filling out the volunteer background check form now so that you know you are clear and ready to go when the time comes.
If you need to change your child's transportation home from school on any day, you will need to email your child's teacher and fill out this google form. This will need to be completed by 2 pm the day of.
This is where we will let you know what concepts your child will be working on in the upcoming week.
This week we will be combining reading, writing, and social studies as we complete our DBQ(Document Based Question). We will read a variety of articles and form an opinion about which achievement was Harriet Tubman's greatest. We will write an extended response to state our opinion and use evidence to support our thinking.
