Third Grade Field Trip: Monday, November 13
Northwest ISD’s Agriculture Barn at Northwest HS
Dear Parents,
We are very excited to be able to take a field trip to the NISD Ag. Barn. Northwest ISD’s high school students offer a fun day of learning about animals and agriculture at their Agricultural Science center. One of the best perks of this field trip is that it is FREE to attend!!
What do I need to do to allow my child to attend?
Fill out the permission slip that was sent home and return to your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, November 10. (No payment needed- the field trip is FREE!).
What does my child need to bring on the field trip?
Weather-appropriate clothing. The entire field trip to the Ag Barn is OUTSIDE. Students should wear tennis shoes (preferably ones that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy!!) and bring a jacket depending on the weather. Students will be provided with a Beck field trip t-shirt on the morning of the trip that they will change into at school. A hat or gloves are also recommended if it is cold that day.
Parents- Please label your students items (hats, scarves, jackets, etc) with your child's first and last name. Our lost and found gets pretty full around this season when weather is cold in the morning but hot during recess and students shed those jackets and hats. All items that are labeled are returned to students.
All volunteers need to complete a background check. We would recommend still filling out the volunteer background check form now so that you know you are clear and ready to go when the time comes.
If you need to change your child's transportation home from school on any day, you will need to email your child's teacher and fill out this google form. This will need to be completed by 2 pm the day of.
This is where we will let you know what concepts your child will be working on in the upcoming week.
We will celebrate all we have learned as readers of nonfiction and take our nonfiction quick check at the end of the week.
We will practice writing short constructed responses and extended constructed responses to nonfiction texts.
