What We Are Learning About
Reading: We are finishing up learning about story elements. We will begin to learn about Fairy Tales and do an author study over Kevin Henkes!
Writing: In writing, the students are working on chapter books. They will also be re-writing a fairy tale; trying to make it a Texas version. These new versions will be read as a readers theater activity. Can't wait to see their creativity!
Social Studies: We are entering into our economics unit for social studies. We will discuss needs and wants, goods and services, how to make a choice to spend or save money, and what the difference is between a producer and consumer.
Math: We are finishing up financial literacy in Module 11 (coin values and making trades) and will be entering the final module of the year, Module 12, in which students will learn about writing and naming three-digit numbers up to 130. See below for ways to help out at home!
Science: In science we will learn all about plants! We will be labeling plants, learn about the plant life cycle, and do a few Lima bean experiments!

Hello Lakeview Families,
It’s hard to believe the school year is almost over and time to begin thinking ahead to the Fall. As you are aware, Lakeview does not honor specific teacher requests, but we do appreciate and take into account information provided by parents and guardians. Once class lists are established it is extremely difficult to make changes afterward. We are going to make every effort to not alter class lists once created so we ask that you take the time to fill out this form should you have any requests or concerns. Our focus is to make sure every classroom is set up for student achievement and social emotional success.
