Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.

- Charles W. Elliot

Hi, thanks for checking out my page! ^o^)/

My personal project focuses on the creation of an illustrated novel, a digital one at that. It is written in the usual novel format, but contains illustrations in a few of the episodes.

The novel has two main themes; LGBTQ+ and psychological trauma. Why? Because I believe that both issues deserve more attention as they are often times belittled and taken too lightly. With this in mind, I decided to address said issues through story writing, a long-standing passion of mine.

You can find the novel on the Tapas platform by looking up its title "Borderline Candidate" in the search bar. For easy access, click the link down below!

If you enjoyed reading or generally share the same beliefs with me and want to spread more awareness on the two topics, please subscribe! It would help a whole lot! Each like and comment is very much appreciated. Constructive criticism on the story itself is more that welcome! ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

This is a video of me talking about my project and answering 2 questions assigned to me:

  1. How long did I spend on the exhibition?

  2. What did I enjoy most and what did I find most challenging?

Project Report

This report holds all the information on the processes that led to the creation of this book.

Give it a read for a more in-depth understanding of how, what, and why my product is the way it is!

Global Context

My global context for the book is “Identities and relationships”. “Identities” because being a victim of any type of trauma or falling into the gay category can make a person feel so isolated and detached from themselves and their feelings to the point where they would question their own identities. And “relationships” because not only do they become detached from themselves, but also from the people around them; whether it be friends, relatives, or even their own partner.

SUMMARY:

As doubts about his family arise, Aizen feels the need to seek closure. In discovering the truth about his own identity, he risks the image of his "parents", himself, and everyone else around him. However, in the midst of this family dispute comes an unexpected twist; an amorous turn of events with a fellow frenemy. Would this be for better or for worse? Caught in between the battling emotions of love and hate, how would Aizen cope?

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

A new chapter every Friday! Please keep in mind that this novel is pretty slow-paced.
