Biosketch

           Dr. Subham Banerjee currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)-Guwahati, Assam. He is also a Visiting Staff Faculty of the University of Texas (UT) at Austin, USA. In addition, he also served as a coordinator cum co-principal investigator in the National Centre of Pharmacoengineering (State-of-the-art-facility) funded under the Drugs Pharmaceuticals Research Programme (DPRP), DST, Govt. of India. Dr. Banerjee did his doctoral degree from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra in collaboration with Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), DRDO, Tezpur, Assam in the year 2015. After completion of his doctoral degree he was selected as an "Innovation Awardee in Devices" at Translational Health Science & Technology Institute (THSTI), NCR-Biotech Science Cluster, Faridabad. In the same year, he received "Fast-Track Young Scientist Research Grant" by Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India.

       Based on his doctoral,post-doctoral & ongoing research work, he was the recipient of several National and International competitive prestigious awards like "Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award-2017" from Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, "Innovators under-35 (2017)" from MIT Technology Review, US, "NASI-Swarna Jayanti Puruskar (2020)", from NASI-Prayagraj. He bagged first prize for "BIRAC-BRTC Mapping the Changemakers of North East Region of India" in 2020, "SERB-International Research Experiences (SIRE) Fellowship (2022)" to visit UT Austin, US, also selected for "BRICS Innovator Prize-2022" DST, Govt. of India, "IPA-ACG SciTech Innovation Award -2023" in Solid Dosage Development in Academia, "Outstanding Early Career Scientists 2023" recognied by Prestigious Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Elsevier and many other prestigious recognitions. He has successfully completed several Extramural Research (EMR) project grants funded by premium funding bodies like DST, DBT, ICMR, BIRAC, ANRF-SERB, TEQIP-III, DST-Govt. of Assam, etc including Industrial Consultancy Projects from Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone (AMTZ), Vizag, Andhra Pradesh

            He has more than 11 years of combined teaching and research experiences. He possesses 04 granted patents, 03 granted design patents, a 3D printed technology derived product transferred to Industry, 01 edited book on "Additive Manufacturing in Pharmaceuticals" by SPRINGER-NATURE, Singapore, 10 International book chapters in reputed publishing houses, published more than 100 research articles in peer-reviewed high impact National/International journals, with citations more than 2500 & h-index of 30.

          Dr. Banerjee is an active member/associate/fellow of the leading learned scientific society of India & Overseas. He is a "Member of the National Academy of Sciences (MNASc.)", Prayagraj, "Associates of the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc)", Bengaluru, "Associates of the West Bengal Academy of Science & Technology (AAScT)", "Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC)", United Kingdom (UK), "Fellow of Indian Chemical Society (FICS)", Member of the BRICS Community-2022, BRICS Intergovernmental STI Cooperation, Govt. of India and was the "Executive Committee Members Controlled Release Society-Indian Local Chapter (CRS-IC)", Mumbai.

    Dr. Banerjee’s research area focuses on Pharmacoengineering including Pharmaceutical Additive Manufacturing (AM)/3D & 4D Printing, New Materials for Pharmaceutical AM, Drug Delivery, and Cutting-edge Translational Pharmaceutical Research.
