Biosketch

Rahul is currently an Assistant Professor (Ad-hoc) in the Department of Medical Devices at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)-Guwahati, India. Rahul completed his Ph.D. at IIT Kharagpur, where his research focused on spine biomechanics and design and development of porous implant. Before joining NIPER, Rahul has worked as a Research Associate at IIT Kharagpur and later as a Research Associate-III at Orthotech India Pvt. Ltd. (IIT Guwahati campus), where he contributed to the design and development of spinal interbody cages and orthopedic implants using both powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing techniques. His interdisciplinary work spans biomechanics, computational modeling, medical device prototyping, and materials characterization, with a vision of integrating academic research with hospital collaborations and medical device manufacturing for cost-effective, patient-specific healthcare solutions.
