Question 3: Can you describe the latest research and trials into PPMS?

Answer: Researchers are looking into Primary Progressive MS (PPMS) to find new treatments. They're testing different ideas to help people with this type of MS. There are a variety of trials for people with PPMS.  Chariot is aimed at all forms of MS for those 18+ and have an EDSS of between 6.5-8.5. It is focusing on protecting upper limb function. O-Hand is aimed at PPMS only, for 18-65 year olds with an EDSS between 3.0-8.0. Sizomus is a trial for all forms of MS for people aged 18-65, assessing a drug called Ninlaro. Additionally, Octopus, discussed in Question 2 is also for progressive MS.

For further information on these studies (except Octopus and Sizomus), please visit the Current MS Research section on this website.  Not all these studies have recruiting sites in the South West, but if you would like to discuss these studies in more detail, please do email the address at the bottom of the page.
