Decisions and actions

Minutes of last meeting and updates on actions

  1. John Iredale has replaced Fiona Watt as interim CEO of MRC.

  1. Last meeting, we discussed EDI in relation to public and prevention research. The group noted that EDI is an important area, and we need to apply EDI principles when working at population health or public health level.

  1. DHSC will be publishing a new five-year dementia strategy, which will set out the government’s plans on dementia for future years.


SCHOPR future direction

  1. The research landscape has changed in the past few years so now is a good time to discuss the future of SCHOPR.

  1. SCHOPR will review and update its terms of reference and determine next steps for any potential changes.

  1. SCHOPR will also explore if the SCHOPR chair could become a member of OSCHR.
