How have truth, friendship and loyalty been a part of your time at Nightingale?
Truth, friendship, and loyalty, as well as integrity, growth, and curiosity, are at the core of what I have learned to value most throughout my time at Nightingale. I have learned to hold myself to higher standards, to empathize with others, to be a leader, to never give up, and that I will always have someone to turn to within the Nightingale community. Nightingale has instilled in me the importance of staying true to oneself, and for that I am forever grateful.
Your message to the Nightingale Class of 2020:
To the Class of 2020: there are truly not enough words in the English vocabulary that come close to explaining how extraordinary you all are. Thank you for growing up alongside me and for the most unforgettable 13 years. I can’t wait to continue celebrating you all in the many, many years to come.
Any final, parting words?
Nightingale has taught me everything I know about what it means to be a good friend, learner, and community member. Nightingale has been fundamental to my growth in so many ways, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to call home over the past 13 years!
What would you tell your younger Nightingale self?
Be proud of who you are. If I had been outspoken about and unashamed of my background, interests, mannerisms, etc. earlier on, I would have found that the people around me would meet me with nothing but unwavering love and support.
How has Nightingale educated both your heart and mind?
Nightingale teachers have treated me as an academic and independent thinker, giving me the confidence and support I needed to be the best version of myself. If they had not regarded me as an equal and intellectual, I would not be even half of the confident, passionate person I am today.
Favorite quote/personal motto:
My personal motto is that everything always works out in the end. Even if you're left scarred or permanently changed, as long as you persist, the best parts of life will make themselves known and remind you what you live for.
