Welcome to the 2019-20 school year at IVCMS!

My name is Sabrina Albright, and I teach 7th grade English and History in Room S-9. This will be my eleventh year teaching at IVC, but I have been a teacher for twenty-five years now - ever since I was a toddler :-).

As a parent, I appreciate knowing a little about my own children's teachers, so I always make sure my students and their families know a few facts about me as well.

After studying English Literature at UCLA, I earned my teaching credential at CSU Hayward. In my career so far, I have taught 2nd through 8th grades in Hayward, Fremont, and Union City. Although I loved teaching elementary school for many years, I particularly enjoy the unique spirit and sense of humor of middle-schoolers.

I consider myself a "family" person, both at home and at school. This is why I spend so much time at the beginning of the year building personal relationships with each of my students and also giving them ample opportunities to get to know each other well. As a mother and a teacher, I am a big fan of photography, so I expect my students to become very good friends with my camera!

Fortunately, I am able to teach close to home as I live here in Union City with my husband, David, our children, and our terrier mix, Rue. Our daughter, Sierra Rose, has just started her second year of college at Cal State East Bay, and our son, Benjamin, is now a sophomore at James Logan High School. They are growing up so fast!

I look forward to getting to know what makes each of my students extra-special!
