Counselor Corner

Hello! BQJ’s Professional School Counselors are April Pleasant PK-2nd grade and Danielle Bowser 3rd-5th grade. We are honored and excited to be the counselors of BQJ Elementary. It is a joy to be able to encourage children as they strive to develop personal discipline and social skills. Please feel free to contact us if we can be of service to you or your child.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education.” At BQJ we are committed to helping each child reach his or her potential intellectually, academically, socially and emotionally.

We understand that education is a journey not a destination. As the school and home work collaboratively, we can help our children achieve this goal.

BQJ Character Education

At BQJ Elementary, character education is valued and encouraged. Through our character education program, students learn valuable lessons about effectively interacting with others in society. Giving students the resources they need to function in a diverse world is necessary no matter what their circumstances. Character education is the root of an individual’s ability to problem solve and make decisions that positively affect their livelihood. Each month we have a character focus and students are recognized and awarded for their ability to display these characteristics in the school setting.
