At Troup, we are proud to house an amazing group of clinicians who ROCK! Our SBHC (school-based health clinic) offers Troup students an opportunity to receive medical services, dental screenings and treatment, and counseling and other mental health services.

Return to school information 2021-2022

A.L. Troup School is one team working to educate ALL students.

Our core values are: respect, ownership, citizenship and knowledge.

ARRIVAL:

· All students will enter the building starting at 8:20am. Students in grades PK-2 will enter on Platt Street through the entrance closest to the gym. Students in grades 3,4,7,8 will enter on Platt Street through entrance closest to the front of the building. Students in grades 5-6 will enter through the back entrance.

· Students will be met at the doors by school staff and they will proceed to their homerooms.

· All students arriving after 8:45am MUST enter through the Edgewood Avenue entrance.

DISMISSAL:

· All students will remain in their classrooms until their buses are called.

· The dismissal of pick-ups will begin at 2:40pm and will be dismissed ONLY through the back entrance. Please be patient when waiting for your child. Parents are not allowed in the building. IDs will be required. Please be sure to complete the emergency form so we are aware of who can pick up your child.

· Walkers will be dismissed at 2:40pm, students in grades 3-6 will exit on the Beers Street side of the building and students in grades 7-8 will exit on the Platt Street side of the building.

· All students must be picked up by 3:00pm.

ATTENDANCE:

· Attendance is taken daily for all students.

· It is imperative that students arrive on time. Late arrivals disrupt what’s happening in the classroom.

· Please contact the office at 475.220.3000 if your child will be absent or needs to be dismissed early. Please make every effort to call first if you’re picking your child up early. Seeing that visitors are not allowed in the building, we want to make sure your child is ready when you arrive.

· Also, after 2:30pm, students will not be dismissed. You will need to pick them up at regular dismissal time.

DRESS CODE:

· Masks must be worn by everyone in the building.

· Ripped jeans, crop tops, offensive graphics, hats, hoods, or open-toe foot wear are NOT allowed.

· Students are allowed to wear hoodies, but the hoods must stay down.

· Students are encouraged to have proper wear for recess (hats, gloves, coats, etc.)

NON-NEGOTIABLES:

· Cell phones must be concealed during the school day.

· We are not responsible for the loss or theft of personal electronics.

· Masks must be worn at all times.

· Only Troup staff and students are permitted in the building unless an appointment has been scheduled.

COVID-19 RESPONSE:

· Any student/staff having a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be able to return to school until fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication for 24 hours.

· Any person who has had a fever or cold symptoms with the previous 24 hours should not come to school.

· Students who test positive or who are sent home to quarantine due to exposure will be provided a plan for learning while under quarantine.

· Students are encouraged to bring water to school. Water fountains are covered due to Covid.
