About me
Originally from a small town in Southern Virginia, I moved to Wilmington in 2014. I love living in the small-town community atmosphere that Wilmington provides that's in such close proximity to the beach. This is my fourth year working in the NHCS district and my third year teaching at Ashley High School. I love working with the faulty, staff, and students here at Ashley and feel fortunate to call this place my professional "home"!
I enjoy reading and teaching literature because it helps me view the world from other people's perspectives. I believe hearing others’ stories, both real and imagined, helps us understand each other more, which ultimately has the power to bring us closer together. Teaching Philosophy
My mission is to meet the needs of every student in my classroom as it pertains to the English course content. My aim is to help make education equitable and accessible for all students while enriching their academic experiences. Ultimately, my goal is to help prepare students for both their next level of coursework and their subsequent entry into the 21st century world.
