I was born and raised in Western North Carolina- where the Heavens kiss the peaks, and made my way to the coast in the early 2000s for college at UNC Wilmington #TeamTeal. My soul was forever coated with salt and sand, making this home now for close to 20 years. Being a wife, mother and dedicated life-long learner has allowed me to created my own personal version of joy and happiness that this life has to offer. 

My background includes professional writing and local nonprofit management which lead me to education. Over the years I have served school communities throughout the various counties in the Cape Fear Area. I started my journey at The Shelter in 2015 and I truly love being a Holly Shelter Hurricane!
