The NHC public library program called CLASS Project has given library accounts to all students in the school system. This account will allow students access to thousands of e-books online. Students can access ClassProject using their student ID/lunch numbers. Click HERE to watch a tutorial on how to log into Class Project through the NHCPL (New Hanover County Public Library). Use your school ID number (your lunch number) to access eBooks from the public library. You can add books to your favorites folder, read online, create book reports, have the computer read the book to you, take quizzes, and so much more!
Click on "Tumble Math" at the top of page to see the math eBooks by subject (subraction, division, etc).
Click on "Common Core" to see eBooks that have lesson plans correlated with Kindergarten through 3rd grade ELA standards.
FREE tutoring resource! Work can be dropped off for a tutor to review and send back to you, you can chat in a message box, or you can use a microphone and webcam for a live session. Transcripts from sessions can be downloaded and all tutors have had a background check and have appropriate degrees.
How to use our library catalog:
All these search types are in the upper right corner of the screen.
Basic Search: You can search for a specific author, subject, series, title, or keyword. Keywords are good when you want to find books about baseball, koalas, dance, etc. Finding a book using this screen is very broad and will generate all Holly Tree Elementary books that fit the description.
Power Search: You can use several keywords to narrow your search to find specific types of books. For example, you could search "animals" and "true stories." You could also use "basketball" and "Chicago." This search type is more specific and will have fewer results. The types of searches are in the top right corner. Power Search is bolded with a red line to make it easier to find.
Visual Search: Look at the pictures to help determine the type of book you want to check out.
New Search: To start a new search, look in the top left corner and select "library search." It is circled in red below.
