These conversations are on indefinite pause at this moment. You can watch the recording of the last session if you want to understand more about why.
You can still register to get access to the recordings of the previous 12 sessions and we plan to let you all know of any changes as they become clear.
The purpose of these calls is to model engaging with divergences that often arise between Palestinians and Israelis in ways that increase togetherness, support healing, identify nonviolent pathways, and feed a shared vision of collective liberation in the land with many names.
In this series we are engaging in conversations about tough topics that are rarely talked about between Israelis and Palestinians. Our first conversation - that sparked the idea to the series - was spontaneous, and we talked about what zionism is and isn’t, about what it means when we say “Free Palestine”, and about the deep bond of trust between us. It is from within this trust that the peace vision and the conviction about mobilizing the power of women to stand for life first arose and inspired our work through the Women in White project. We decided from that spark to have these conversations in public, with observers who will also be invited to ask questions. This is one of the gifts we can offer: a pathway of deep understanding as a response to the horrific situation in the land we come from.
We want to meet to encourage each other to bring forward, in full, what we are each holding as deep inner wisdom and to speak out, in full, about our convictions and doubts related to what has been unfolding, both in the last year and in the many decades that preceded it, in the land on which we were both born.
Our hope is to create an environment of deep listening that expands and integrates our collective sensemaking. We dare to imagine new actions, including political ones – for life instead of against anyone – arising through surrendering to what unfolds when we talk. We don’t have any agenda and only a rough plan. Our intention is to show up in deep truth and full love, for each other, for our peoples, and for humanity as a whole. We imagine engaging with each other for about 40 minutes, breaking out into small groups, and coming back for questions from you. We want to maintain a spirit of dialogue throughout, even with the controversial nature of the topics we imagine talking about, between us and with everyone. We invite everyone to come with an intention to learn and understand others with different opinions.
To support the sacred work of dialogue across many differences, we ask that you come with an intention to move beyond judgments to seeing the humanity of everyone, including those who hold views or do things that are deeply at odds with values you hold dear. We also ask that you use the chat only for clarifying questions and to respond to our requests, and not for expressing your opinions.
Please register here,
where we also ask you to offer us financial gifts if you are able to do so without overstretching or obligation. When you register you also get access to the recordings of previous sessions.
Once we know how much was gifted to us, we plan to distribute the money across four different purposes:
Supporting this future vision of the Women in White project
Supporting those who provide human aid to the people in Gaza
Supporting the sustainability of those gifting their energy to NGL
Supporting the sustainability of Tamera
