Who is eligible?
An employee of NFI or any of its related or affiliated companies, including Cal-Cartage, G&P and NFI Dominion (collectively, the “Company”), who:
has been employed with NFI for not less than 60 consecutive days; and either:
(a) is currently an employee in good standing with the Company; or
(b) was an employee in good standing with the company at the time such employee was furloughed or whose hours were reduced as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the operations or business unit in which such employee worked.
An independent contractor truck driver who:
has provided services directly to the Company for not less than 12 consecutive months and as recently as December 2019, and either:
(a) is currently providing services to the Company; or
(b) was providing such services at the time the services provided by such independent contractor were terminated or the number of loads offered to such independent contractor were materially reduced as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the operations in which such independent contractor provided services.
What financial hardship qualifies?
Reasonable and necessary expenses you incur or are unable to pay as a result of the COVID-19 virus outbreak, including, among other things:
costs for the purchase of medications;
costs for child care due to school closings;
unreimbursed COVID-19 medical expenses (such as deductibles or co-pays);
other expenses determined to be reasonably incurred as a result of or arising out of the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
An eligible individual may not receive assistance for use in any of the following ways:
simply to replace lost or reduced wages (including paid sick or other leave) or to duplicate any compensation available through other means such as unemployment benefits;
to pay expenses that are otherwise reimbursable by the individual's insurance or government programs;
to reimburse the cost of nonessential services or luxury items.
