The math shows that just 20 minutes of reading a night will add up to 3600 minutes a year! That will translate into stronger fluency rates which affect comprehension and overall learning!

Your child will have a weekly sheet to record home reading and we will be using a blog to write about what we have read. Directions will come home the third week of school (we need to practice first).

We begin our year learning about how rules make us safer and happier learners. Our rules are Be Ready, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. We are interpreting these in class and will be sending our understanding of them home by the first week of school.

The following weeks we will learn about how our government makes rules and laws and how they help us be respectful and responsible citizens.

Harrisyn was chosen by her peers to be the 3rd grade class representative this year! Congratulations Harrisyn!

Don't let your dog eat your homework! Good thing Elizabeth caught him before he finished off her folder...
