Welcome to Term 2. It was lovely to see our learners return refreshed and ready to learn on Monday.
Thank you to those of you who were able to join our workshops last term. We hope to be able to engage with you through more of these this term. There will be an IB Diploma focused one on Thursday November 5, if you are interested, please sign up so we can send you the link to join us. There is also some really useful careers and university pathway information under Important Notices this week.
Coming up this term will be our first round of full reports for Years 11 and 13 and short reports for the rest of the Year Groups. We hope these stimulate some good conversations at home as we work in partnership with you to help learners be successful. Year 12 parents will have the opportunity to discuss how their child has settled into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme on Wednesday 2 December. Year 10 parents will have the opportunity to discuss how their child has settled into the IGCSE courses on Wednesday 9 December. These are likely to be online meetings if the current social distancing regulations remain.
Please rest assured that we are continuing to be diligent around the Covid-19 situation. Learners and staff are temperature checked daily. Any learners with any form of symptoms are sent for medical attention and remain at home until the symptoms have passed. Staff whose family members exhibit symptoms are remaining at home until a negative swab test has been confirmed. Please continue to support us by checking your child for symptoms and keeping them at home if unwell.
We are doing all we can to support our learners to enjoy learning in and out of classroom under the current restrictions. There were some fantastic costumes today for Halloween and our Year 7 dancers showed huge resilience today performing 'Thriller' throughout the start of school. Please check out our music recitals on the Arts page of this edition to see how our learners have performed safely.
Best wishes,
Dr Heather
