Nex+Gen follows the traditional APS school calendar.

The first day of school for all students is Aug. 3, 2023
High schools will begin at 8:40 a.m. and end at 3:40 p.m.
Nex+Gen Academy is excited to introduce our eCAD Learning Lab!
Starting in the fall of 2023, Nex+Gen is offering this opportunity to all of our students as an elective during the school day.
Nex+Gen eCAD Learning Lab Details:
Offered as an elective to all students grades 9 - 12.
One-semester class (may be repeated as needed).
Meets daily for 52 minutes.
Will have an in-room academic coach.
Daily attendance is required and will be tracked in Synergy.
Students are required to meet with the academic coach weekly to review progress and grades.
Students may register for a maximum of two classes at a time (per semester).
All classes are fully online.
Students may choose to enroll in the eCAD Learning Lab for the following reasons:
Credit recovery
Transfer students who are missing classes required for graduation
Enroll in the following high school-level electives which are not offered at Nex+Gen:
AP Psychology — Semesters 1 and 2
Art Appreciation — Semesters 1 and 2
Academic Career Exploration I — Semesters 1 and 2
Academic Career Exploration II — Semesters 1 and 2
Computer Networks — Semesters 1 and 2
Digital Film and Media — Semesters 1 and 2
Engineering and Design — Semesters 1 and 2
Latin I — Semesters 1 and 2
Law — Semesters 1 and 2
Psychology — Semesters 1 and 2
Sociology — Semesters 1 and 2
Financial Literacy
Geology/Astronomy

Drop off along San Mateo Lane is not allowed for non-handicapped students. Parents are asked to drop off students in the drop-off loop adjacent to student and visitor parking north of the school. This lot may be accessed by turning east off of San Mateo at the first intersection north of the light at San Mateo Lane and following the road past the apartments. Students should not be dropped off in the staff parking lot. See directions to student parking below:
Route 1: From San Mateo Blvd, turn east on San Mateo Lane. Follow the left turn and right turn through the apartment complex. The parking lot is ahead on the right. The first (west) gate is the student drop-off loop, and there is no access to the parking lot. The SECOND (east) gate is the entrance to the parking lot.
Route 2: From San Mateo Blvd, turn east on McLeod at the stoplight. Turn south on San Mateo Lane, the parking lot (east gate) is straight ahead.

FTC Griffin Robotics Mentorship
(meets after school, not an elective)
This is open to ALL students and DOES NOT CONFLICT with first-period electives. It meets on Thursdays after school and Saturdays.
Open to ALL grades, 4 yrs possible
Offers mentorship credit in 11th and 12th grades, can be a Senior Project focus
Annual NM Qualifier hosted at Nex+Gen in January
