Headteacher Update

Dear families,

We have had an excellent first two weeks this term. The children have made a settled and purposeful start back to their new topics and they are really demonstrating mature attitudes.

The summer term is always a busy one so please check this keys dates document to make sure you don't miss anything important for your children.

In order for us to provide a fun and enriching experience for your children we go out of school on trips and visits very regularly but for these adventures to be successful, we need your help. Whilst family life can be very busy please think about volunteering to come along if you see that your child is heading out on a visit or trip- this is particularly helpful in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

Over the coming few weeks we have significant school assessments for Years 2 and 6. These national examinations are used to help the government understand how well children at across the country are doing and for year 6 they help with the transition into their new school. Those key year groups have special information sessions planned but if you have any questions then please speak to the teachers.

This weekend is one of a number of bank holidays over the next month or so. If you are looking for inspiration and things to do I would recommend a trip to Hampstead Heath- easy to get to on the Overground from Dalston and it offers fantastic walks and stunning views of the London skyline. If the weather isn't so good you could explore the more local attractions of at the Museum of the Home or the Hackney Museum.

However you spend it, I hope you enjoy the extra day with family and friends and to those in our community celebrating the end of Ramadan, I would like to wish you Eid Mubarak.

Rory
