29th June

Dear families,

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and managed to dodge the showers and get out and about.

The children this week are thinking about transition ahead of their new classes being shared on Wednesday 8th and moving up day the week of the 13th July. It is important for us as adults to support the children to recognise the end of this academic year. Next week's home learning booklets will support you to do this with with your children at home. We have designed three activities for each year group which will help them to recognise their feelings in relation to this important time. If you have any worries about transition for your child speak with your class teacher during your weekly calls, or make an appointment to speak with them via the office.

The children in Year 6 are approaching an incredibly big transition and to support them with it we are hosting a socially distanced graduation next Thursday 9th July. This will then be followed by a relaxed day of games and sports with their friends on the 10th before they leave that afternoon. More in depth details about this event have been shared with the year 6 families today- if you did not receive this information then let us know.

I would also like to share with you some lovely news about our garden project. We have been 'Highly Commended' by the Better Energy Schools Awards for our work on the school allotment. This is great achievement for our extended schools team and showcases the value of investing in the natural spaces around the school. Currently in full bloom as a beautiful wild flower meadow, I can't wait to see how Ms. Howlett and her Eco-Warriors transform the space in the new term.

Today, Hackney have shared details of their summer play schemes. These are sure to be in high demand this year so if you are interested in using this service please click here and here to find out more.

Have a lovely week,

Rory
