Dear Shacklewell community,
I don't know about you but I certainly found the weather uplifting this weekend. Whilst it would have been more enjoyable to be outside in the glorious sunshine it did remind me that better days are ahead of us. I was heartened too when I saw this lovely article. It features some or very own families, and talks about the need for us all to recognise and support our community now and into the future.
It has been an absolute pleasure this week to see such amazing learning coming in from all year groups. It is clear that as families you are all working hard to promote both academic study and the creative arts. The work submitted is really a testament to the support you are providing at home during this difficult time.
This week we are asking for your feedback. We understand that home learning can be incredibly difficult as you juggle the demands of life in lockdown. We want to know what we can do to help make learning at home even better. Please click this this link to share your thoughts. The survey will close next Monday.
This period of isolation and closure is having an impact on many families' ability to find enough food and day to day groceries. If this is your situation Shacklewell can help in a variety of ways. We can refer families to the local foodbank at St Paul's and we can provide small parcels of groceries ourselves. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can help.
I would also encourage each and everyone of you to complete this short application form for Free School Meals- Hackney Free School Meals. If you have completed this then you do not need to repeat the application. However as a result of new guidelines from the government more families are now eligible for this funding. As always if you have any questions then please call the school or drop me an email.
Take of each other and yourself- see you soon,
Rory
