what a whirlwind of trips and excitement last week was! The children across the school thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different locations. A huge thank you to Shacklewell Families for making the trips possible. This week the Nursery are heading to Hackney Downs for their Sports Day and Graduation before being joined by the Two Year Olds and having a pool party and fish and chips on Thursday 18th July.
This week is all about poetry. The children throughout the school are practising rhythms and rhymes, exploring vocabulary in fun and exciting ways and creating their own original compositions. The children are performing their pieces to their classmates and many of them will be filming their performances with the aim of publishing them online. This is our final writing weeks of the academic year and the children have already shown their creative flair.
On Wednesday you will receive your child's End of Year Report. This document outlines the children's attainment and progress across the year. It also includes images of success from across the year as well as the children's own reflections on their learning. Parents in Year 1 will receive notification of their children's attainment in the Phonics Screening Check, and in Year 2 parents will be notified of the outcomes of the KS1 assessments. Parents and children in Year 6 will also find out the results of the KS2 SATs. This year, as a continuation of Know Me Before You Teach Me, the Year 5 and 6 reports will also include a CV by the children. These documents showcase the children's highlights, passions and creativity from across the academic year. On Thursday after school their is an opportunity for you to speak with your child's teacher about their End of Year report. It is a drop in session so please come to school between 3.45pm-5.00pm to speak with the teachers.
Have a great week,

It’s our AGM this Thursday at 9:00am. All families are welcome to come along, help wrap up a fantastic year of fundraising, and discuss plans for the next school year.
We especially would like to see you if you are able to take over responsibilities from our out-going committee members.
Naomi will be stepping down as Chair at the end of term- here is her personal message:
I’ve loved having the responsibility of being Chair of the fantastic Shacklewell Families. My daughter will be moving up to Y5 so it’s now time to hand over the baton to parents/carers from the younger years.
I feel really proud of events we created such as Shacklewell Day and Bake Off. I feel especially proud of the fact that we continually strive to be inclusive and we are constantly reviewing and improving how we achieve that goal.
I’ll also be sad to leave the role!
We will vote for a new Chair in September, and I will ensure that there is an efficient handover process for the lucky candidate, or candidates for Co-Chair.
If you would like to put yourself forward then please contact info@shacklewellfamilies.com
