Dear families,
It has been another busy but amazing week here at Shacklewell. As many of you will be aware we were notified on Monday 8th that an HMI inspector would be inspecting the school on Tuesday morning. The outcome of the inspection is confidential at this moment, however the school will be receiving a letter shortly and after this we will be able to publish the findings.
All we can do is issue a huge thank you to the whole school community including pupils, staff and parents for making Shacklewell an amazing place to work and learn in. We look forward to being able to tell you more as soon as possible but for the present we will have to wait, so please be patient!
Shacklewell continues to be very popular with educators around the world and this week once again we host professionals from Europe (Denmark and Norway). They are very interested in the way our pupils use modern technology in their learning. There will be over 80 people visiting us on Wednesday and Friday, as part of the BETT programme observing technology in Maths, English and IPC across the school. This is a large number of visitors and once more I would like to thank our wonderful pupils and dedicated staff for always rising to the challenge. It is really incredible how confident our pupils are at articulating their learning and how they use technology to support their understanding in lessons.
Finally, please be reminded that our scheduled Parent Council Meeting has been rearranged for this Friday.
Shackewell Parents' Association raises money to benefit every child at the school, and is run entirely by parents & guardians just like YOU!
SPA events this term include:
Valentine's Day cake sale
Easter Bake Off
We'll also be planning a major event for early next term: Shacklewell Day!
We would love it if you could help us in any way you can. Please Visit shacklewellparents.com to find out how to get involved, stay in touch, and support our wonderful school
Internet Safety Day is just around the corner on the 6th February.
At Shacklewell we will be promoting the key message of Create, Connect and Share Respect. The children will learn how to respect themselves and others online.
Lessons throughout the week will promote this message and the children will develop their awareness of being thoughtful online.
The Internet Safety Website has a wealth of resources for families so if you want to be prepared to help your child and reinforce the messages about respect online please click the logo below.
