Winter

Winter starts in December and ends in February.
In winter, it is cold and dark.
Sometimes it gets so cold that it begins to snow.

Spring

Spring starts in March and ends in May.
In spring, it gets warmer and lighter.
The flowers and leaves begin to grow back.

Summer

Summer starts in June and ends in August.
In summer, the weather gets much warmer and sunnier.
You might need to eat ice cream to cool down.

Autumn

Autumn starts in September and ends in November.
In autumn, the leaves change colour and fall off trees.
It gets darker sooner and the weather gets colder again.

Ideas for learning

Weather report

Create a weather report for your favourite season. Say what the weather is like and what clothes you should wear.

Poster

Create a poster showing what you might do in each season. You might make a snowman in winter but you wouldn't in summer.

Calendar

Create a calendar to show which months are in each season. Can you decorate each month to match the season it is in?
