Welcome to 7th Grade Science!
I'm Mrs. Feltham! I'm brand new here at NVCS, but I have taught for 7 years before at the high school level. I am so excited to be at middle school, especially 7th grade! I'm a huge science nerd and I personally think middle school science is the best because it's very hands on and has a lot of fun, engaging activities to learn science content. When I'm not teaching, I'm most likely spending time with my baby daughter and my husband, enjoying the outdoors, or getting lost in a good book.
Please check out the weekly slides posted on Google Classroom to see the daily learning goals, what's going on in class, and what to do if you're absent. I try not to give extra homework to students. The only homework I assign is if students did not finish the work they were supposed to in class.

How are we graded?
What’s Graded?: Grades in this class reflect both what students know (academic mastery) and how they grow as learners (work habits and organization).Your grade is made up of the following core components:
Work Habits: A reflection of classroom performance and engagement. This measures daily effort, participation, willingness to tackle challenges, and active involvement in class activities.
Notebook Organization: Regular checks of student science notebooks to ensure notes, lab data, and handouts are kept neat, complete, and up to date.
Labs & Hands-On Science: Practical applications of concepts, investigation reports, and group experiments.
Assignments: Classwork and quick checks for understanding that build foundational knowledge.
Unit Tests, Projects & Assessments: Larger evaluations showing mastery of standards at the end of a unit.
Infinite campus is updated on a regular basis to communicate grades and performance in class to parents and students. Please contact your teacher if you think she may have missed something. *We are only human!*
