WBUR's Barbara Moran spoke to 8th graders about her path to becoming an environmental journalist as well as a "day in the life." Thank you to the Bigelow PTO for helping to sponsor this event.

Students selected a local environmental issue and researched their topics using library databases.

Students had the option of doing an interview or journalistic observation, and then they incorporated what they learned into their story scripts.

Student reporters from Newton North's school newspaper, The Newtonite, talked about the "inverted pyramid" writing process and mentored Bigelow students as they created their news stories.
