OUR NEXTGEN MINISTRY PHASES
Nursery (Kids Ministry)
6 months- 3 year olds
The beginning stages of spiritual development are learning blocks that can help children discover early on how much God loves them. Through play in a safe environment, your Nursery Kids will explore God's wonderful world around them.
PreK/K (Kids Ministry)
3-6 year olds
Building upon the wonder and excitement of learning through play, we embrace the children’s physical needs to know God’s love and meet God’s family. Our vision is that every PreK/K Kid who walks through our doors will leave believing three basic truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever.
Elem (Kids Ministry)
1-5 grades
We engage your children’s curiosity through exciting games, Bible stories and small group discussions. Our goal is to instill in your Elementary Kids three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52 – I need to make the wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Middle School (Student Ministry)
6-8 grades
Middle School Students meet every Sunday in small groups where they have some time of discussion and personal reflection focused on Biblical truths and foundations.
On every 2nd Sunday of the month, Middle Schoolers join the High Schoolers for Student Ministry Story Sunday. Student Ministry Story Sunday is where they have the opportunity to listen to someone's faith story.
If there is a 5th Sunday in the month, Middle Schoolers will have a Connect Sunday with Games/Activities in the Fellowship Hall.
*Our Summer Months (July & August) may follow a different rhythm.
High School (Student Ministry)
9-12 grades
High School Students meet in small groups focused on building relationships and engaging in thoughtful conversations around relevant topics through a Biblical framework.
High School Students will meet as follows:
1st Sunday: Small Group Sunday where they meet for discussion and connection
2nd Sunday: Student Ministry Story Sunday where they have the opportunity to listen to someone's faith story
3rd Sunday: Service Sunday where they will join the main service; there will be reserved seating for them in the Sanctuary and a Student Ministry Volunteer will be around to check in with them
4th Sunday: Ministry Sunday where they can serve in other ministries or join the main service
5th Sunday (if applicable): Connect Sunday (Game/Activity in the Fellowship Hall)
*Our Summer Months (July & August) may follow a different rhythm.
Student Ministry Meetups
Middle School & High School
All Students (MS/HS) gather together for a time of food, fun, and friends. Student Ministry (SM) leaders will provide details to families.
FRIENDLY REMINDERS
CHECK IN
Kids 5th grade and under MUST have a Guardian (18 years old and over) check them in.
All Elem and PreK/K Kids will have a number (name tag or label for visitors). If you do not have a name tag with number (or you lost it), please let a NextGen Team member know.
Nursery Kids will need name label with a phone number of a Guardian while they are with us. Please also leave a labeled water (sippy) cup. We will text you if/when your child needs a diaper/ clothing change.
*If your child is not sitting on their own yet, we kindly ask for you to stay with them in the Nursery if you choose to have them participate. We also reserve the right to limit how many Nursery Kids are in our space during Sunday Programming. For the safety of our Kids, we need to maintain a 1:4 adult:child ratio at all times (maximum of 8 children at any given time). Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe.
LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED DURING PROGRAMMING UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
There is access to the bathroom in our NextGen Space. We will contact you if your PreK/K child requires additional assistance in the bathroom, otherwise, we have the PreK/K and Elem Kids use it on their own.
PICK UP
Please wait at the PICK UP AREA for your child to be released to you.
Return any name tags/ chains to a NextGen Team Member during PICK UP.
Nursery Kids can be picked up by their SNACK/ACTIVITY AREA
Students from Student Ministry will meet you at your agreed upon location.
**If you are part of a team or you know you will be staying for prayer, please coordinate with another guardian to pick up your child/ren. Safety is one of our top priorities while your children are with us and it gets difficult when the children are waiting around for a long time after service has ended. We also ask that you communicate with your children that they cannot leave the NextGen space until a grown up has picked them up. We appreciate your understanding and partnership in this.
> Please do not enter the KIDS AREA until ALL Kids have been released to their guardians. I know this is hard especially with the quick turnover of the space. But in cases where there is another event happening right after church in the Fellowship Hall, please fill up the tables closest to the double doors (stairwell) first so we can keep the KIDS AREA clear until we are able to break down the space.
> We do understand that sometimes Kids need a toy or book to help them transition. When the toy or book distracts the rest of the group from learning and engaging, that item will be put "On Pause" until Pick Up.
**Any changes for the week concerning Check In, lunch, and meeting info will be posted in our Updates.
We are a place where children & students of all backgrounds and walks of life can come and experience the grace and power of Jesus. We use a strategy called Orange, combining the two primary influences that impact a kid’s life – his/her family and the church, to build authentic faith in the life of each child. We do this primarily through small groups, large group activities and family engagement.
MOMMA'S SPACE
For Mommas of newborns and infants who need a quiet space to feed, pump, or change their little ones, this space is available to you every Sunday from 12:20PM-1:30PM in the Fellowship Hall near the Nursery.
Please reach out to a NextGen Team Member for assistance.

COMMUNICATION PLATFORMS
This site (New Life East NextGen Family Connect Board) will be our primary source for information, resources, and updates. Please bookmark this link so you can check it consistently.
We do have WhatsApp groups (NextGen New Life Kids for families with Nursery to 5th grade children; and NLE Student Ministry Fam for families with Middle School and High School children). These groups serve as a way for our families to share events, offer free items, or gather feedback on certain topics. We love cultivating spaces where our families can deepen their connection with each other outside of our Sunday Programming. If you would like to join these groups (specific to your child's grade/age level), please click on the appropriate image(s) below.
HUB CONNECT
We continue to ask our families to make sure you are connected to our HUB (aka CCB, Church Community Builder). This will help us keep track of all our members and ensure you are receiving timely and clear communication. This will also be a one-stop shop for all Formation Courses (like EHS, EHR, and Foundations), Workshops, and financial records for your reference. If you haven't gotten a chance to create an account for you and your family or if you haven't logged on in the last 3 months, please do so using the link:
Once you create an account, you will be contacted by Susan with further instructions. Thank you for assisting us with this!
If you are interested in becoming a New Life Member, please also reach out to Susan Vivas (susan.vivas@newlife.nyc).
Thank you for being part of our New Life East NextGen Family!
