Model T Ford Restoration
Hi . . . My name is Max and I am working on my Eagle Scout Project.
I am restoring the 1917 Model T Ford previously owned by a 4th generation Somers resident, Caroline Wright Reis and bequest to the Town of Somers, NY in 1967. The car is part of the Town of Somers' Wright Reis Collection. This collection is under the joint care of Somers Historical Society and the Town of Somers Historic Properties Board.
I would like to gratefully acknowledge Mr. Rick Morrissey, Somers Town Supervisor and Mr. Emil Antonaccio, President Somers Historical Society for giving me the opportunity to take on this project.
I would especially like to thank Mr. Arnie Guyot, Society Trustee, who has sponsored me for this project and for being my mentor in the restoration process.
Join me as I document my journey . . .
Here's the Model T on the flatbed being transported from its home for the past 20+ years, to the worksite.
Thanks to my friends from the Model A Ford Club who were quick to help me take action to start this project!
I owe a great debt to these gentlemen who have helped me get this project started.
From Left to Right . . .
Mr. Keith Pousada - Showing up with the flatbed on short notice to move the car to its restoration garage.
Mr. Arnie Guyot - Helping me every step of the way: identifying this project, my ultimate sponsor and helping me to lead this project through to the end!
Mr. Tom Leonard - Master Mechanic, "all knowing" of everything Model T related and the person who has been absolutely indispensable in this project.
