Deann S. McManus
Lead ESOL Teacher
Hey! Thanks for stopping by!
This is my fifth year teaching at Boundary Street Elementary School and I am so excited to be working with the faculty, staff, and students at the Best School Ever! Before coming to BSE, I taught for three years at Mid-Carolina Middle School and Mid-Carolina High School (my alma mater). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Newberry College and a Master's in Education in English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education from American College of Education. I have also completed English Language Learner Coach training with the SC Department of Education.
I have two teenage children who are the coolest kids I've ever met! My son is a student at Wofford College and my daughter is a student at Mid-Carolina High School. I have Mr. McManus at home who also loves working with children and teenagers as a coach (he's best at soccer). In fact, he is a boys soccer coach at Mid-Carolina High School. We live with our one dog and two cats. We love to travel, especially to new and exciting places!
Before becoming an ESOL teacher, I was the director of Children's Services at the Newberry County Public Library. I love sharing good books with children, teenagers, and adults!
