Become familiar with assignments and due dates, and understand the grading criteria and overall expectations of the course. You are responsible for turning in homework on the date is due, even if you missed class that day. By remaining enrolled in the class you agree on the terms of the syllabus. It is your responsibility to read its content.
Study the material before coming to class. Look the course schedule under TEMAS to know what topic will be covered in class. Turn to those pages in your textbook, read the material, write down any questions that you might have about the topic for in-class discussion, and study. Class time will be used for clarification and practice.
You will receive participation grade based on preparedness, and overall in-class participation (answering questions, volunteering, active use of Spanish during practice exercises, and a positive attitude). You will be granted 3 absences without penalty. The following measure will be used to calculate your daily participation points:
0 points - absent / present but does not participate
1 point - late but participates actively
2 points - on time and participates actively
As courtesy to your instructor and fellow students, please turn your cell phones off, do not chew gums, and come to class on time. Additionally, please keep your camera on, and microphone off until you need to talk (unless you are wearing headphones).
