My name is Ashley Handrych and I am the principal of Lakeview Middle School. Born and raised in Trumbull County, I am a proud 2002 graduate of the Lakeview Local School System. In 2006 I graduated from Bethany College in West Virginia with a BA in Elementary Education and Special Education K-12. I graduated from Adams State College in 2010 with my MA in School Counseling and in 2014, I added an endorsement in K-12 Educational Leadership to my license. Throughout my career with Lakeview Local Schools I have served as a 6-8 Intervention Specialist, Elementary School Counselor, and Director of Federal Programs. Serving as the principal of Lakeview Middle School has been my most challenging and rewarding role yet. This position allows me to interact with hundreds of students on a daily basis and each day brings something new. Please do not hesitate to contact me throughout the school year. I look forward to working with you and your children.
Dean of Students
I graduated high school from Austintown Fitch in 2007. I started my post-secondary education at the University of Akron, where I played volleyball for two seasons. I then transferred to Youngstown State University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Language Arts, 7-12 grade.
I have been working for Lakeview schools since 2011. I started my career at Lakeview, teaching English at the high school. After working closely with the counselors at LHS and seeing the positive impact that they had on LHS students, I decided I wanted to pursue a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Adams State University in 2014. After four years of teaching, I became the school counselor at the middle school. I absolutely love coming to work everyday and working with the students at LMS. As a teacher and now a counselor, I went into education because I wanted to have a positive influence and make a difference in a child’s life. I strive daily to accomplish this.
I come from a family of educators. My mother was a special education teacher for 37 years. She demonstrated first hand the dedication that is needed to be a successful educator and also how patience and positivity can go a long way in someone's life. My husband, Dan, is also an educator and coach. Dan and I are blessed with two beautiful children. Johnnie is three and Taylor will be two this May. We also have our family puggle, Mille. In the brief time that I have been a mom, my children have taught me so much and I love and cherish every challenge and milestone that I experience with them. There is never a dull moment in our lives, and I am thankful for this!
My name is Sally Churley and I have worked for Lakeview Schools for 12 years. This is my first year as principal’s secretary at the middle school. In my free time I enjoy watching sports, reading, and being outside.
