Meet the Coordinator

My name is Shannon Layman. I currently live in Shepherdsville, KY with my two children. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Family Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to becoming the coordinator I worked in Jefferson County with the Administrative Office of the Courts as a Court Designated Specialist. That job included processing and creating diversion terms for public and status charges brought against juveniles. Prior to that I worked in Bullitt County for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as a Family Support Specialist. I was responsible for determining eligibility for the SNAP and Medicaid programs. This extensive experience in social work has prepared me for the unique experience in the Nelson County community.

I truly love my position with Nelson County Schools, and want to serve to the very best of my ability. If you, your student, or family have a need, please, do not hesitate to contact me at 502-807-5333 or shannon.layman@nelson.kyschools.us.
