بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

الإمام الحسن عليه السلام : Imam Hasan (a.s)

عَلِّمِ النّاسَ وتَعَلَّم عِلمَ غَيرِكَ ، فَتَكونَ قَد أتقَنتَ عِلمَكَ وعَلِمتَ ما لَم تَعلَم

Teach people and learn from others, so that you will have mastered your knowledge and learned what you did not know.

The Prophet of Allah said:

عَنِ اَلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: طَلَبُ اَلْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ وَ عَمَلٌ قَلِيلٌ فِي عِلْمٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ كَثِيرٍ فِي جَهْلٍ.

Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim, and a little work while knowing is better than a lot of work in ignorance.

Salam alyekum Momineen,

We see that time passes quickly, just as we concluded the Arbaeen of Imam Husayn (a.s) the Wafat of RasulAllah and Imam Hasan (a.s) and Imam Reza (a.s) too is passing by while we enter the month of RabiUlAwwal.  On the other hand our children are getting ready to start their secular school year as we bid farewell to the period of mourning for Imam Husayn (a.s) although the love Imam continues to burn with the light of his Marifat.

Inshallah Nejaf is embarking on its 3rd Sunday school year while there are books filled with ahadith/narrations regarding the importance of seeking knowledge. I suffice by only quoting 2 ahadith/narrations of our A'aimah.

One of the core objective of Nejaf Islamic center here in New England is to impart Islamic education, the teaching of the pure Islam (Islam e Naab) and while adults benefit from regular programs our children deserve special attention and we pay special focus in teaching our children islamic etiquette, history, fiqh and language (arabic, farsi, urdu) through our weekly Sunday school.  We strive to bring the best out of our children by ensuring play and learning as part of our school curriculum.  While we emphasise on their academic learning through homeworks, quizzes, midterms, we motivate them through Quran competitions and ensure they have fun through camps and field trips.

In person Sunday School cannot be replaced by online learning,  It has its own place but the exponential learning that our children acquire through peer interaction and an Islamic environment where we pray salat (jamat) in congregation, commemorate births and death of our Imams with our children inspires them and our teachers engage in enriching our children with understanding and our assembly ensures that they analyze and comprehend their beliefs.  Hence it is incumbent upon every parent to take this opportunity and register their child in our school.

We have a team of dedicated volunteers who help us in running the school and are supplemented with training whenever necessary and who are investing their time to please Allah and the Imam of our time.

We have an annual fee per child to cover only some of the cost that school incurs on students through many events and activities and yet we are open to anyone in financial distress who would be granted a scholarship with the condition of 100% attendance if they are unable to pay the tuition.

Hence I urge each and every one of you to join this caravan of hope and ansar (helpers) of the Imam of our time by instilling Tawhid (Oneness), Nubuwat (prophethood) and Wilayat (guardianship) of our Aa'imah in our children but dedicating your sundays for the spiritual, moral and ethical development of your children through the Sunday School.

وَمَا عَلَيۡنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ  and our duty is only to communicate

After having a successful in-person school year 2022-23, We are opening registration for academic year 2023-24 for our school starting 17th September 2023.

We believe in wholesome growth of our chidren to observe and experience Allah's signs around  while learning Islamic Beliefs, History, Ethics and Quran.  Hence we host many field trips, camps, and competitions where children can have fun while learning.

The school will be managed and taught by experienced teacher volunteers from the community and shall impart:

Islamic Studies: Fiqh/Ahkam, Aqaid, Islamic History, Aqhlaq (ethics)

Quran: Recitation, Memorization and understanding.

Languages: Urdu, Arabic, Farsi

Apart from structured curriculum and academics we will be having field trips and sports activities as NEJAF's current location is a huge 10,000Sqft facility with ample space for both indoor and outdoor activities.

I myself along with my team of educators have passion to impart Islamic education to our children and with the partnership from parents we shall be guided by Allah and Ahlulbayt to raise a generation of believers who would be worthy of becoming the true supporters of the Hujjat Ibn Al-Hasan Al-Askari (a.t.f.s).

Alhamdolillah, We praise Allah (s.w.t) in Whose control lies our existence, pandemic has lost its intensity however it took many lives, we ask Allah to forgive all those who lost their lives in past 2 years of COVID.  

Finally we are able to offer in person Islamic schooling again to our children.  We did cope during the pandemic and learned to continue on-line learning but as an educator for the last 15yrs I strongly feel the impact of learning on our children is far more greater in-person school as it focuses the child to learn as well have the social interaction with other children.

NEJAF's inception revolves around education of our youth and community building, hence we are announcing the opening of NEJAF SUNDAY ISLAMIC SCHOOL beginning Sunday 4th September 2022  @ 49 Cedar St, Milford MA.
