Course Name: Explorations in Triginometry
Course Number: 35900
Open to: Grades 11 & 12
Length: 1 semester
Prerequisite: Algebra 1 & Geometry
Credits: 0.5 credit
Course content: Students will focus on a strong understanding of trigonometry and its uses outside of the math classroom. Students will explore both right triangle trig as well as non-right triangle trigonometry, trigonometric graphing, as well as basic trigonometric identities. These skills are widely used in all building applications, ADA compliance, sound and audio equipment, and surveying.
Course Activities: Students will complete activities centered around each career cluster associated with trigonometry. They will complete performance tasks & projects in teams, and learn about the real world implications of error in trigonometric equations.
