From September 4th Principal's Update:

Dismissal Information:

We've made some adjustments to the internal dismissal procedures at Mitchell this year. Students in grades 3-5 will begin transitioning to their dismissal locations at the first bell and younger students will begin transitioning at the second bell. This will allow older students with younger siblings to pick up the younger sibling and will also result in fewer children in the hallway at once. All-in-all our goal is to speed things up by reducing congestion.

A note specific to the driveline -- students going home by driveline will no longer exit the main entrance, rather they will exit the music room door and will wait in an area at the "top" of the driveline. The goal of this change is to encourage parents to pull their cars all the way forward and to reduce the number of cars at a standstill on Brookline St.

Finally, if your child has a last minute dismissal change, please do not call or email the teacher. They are busy teaching the kids and are not always able to check voicemail and email. Please call the office. No dismissal changes will be made after 2pm.

As always, we may make adjustments as needed. While we work to be timely and efficient, our first priority is the safety of your children.

Here's to a great year!

Mr. Bayse
