Mr. Truta has been a Criminalist with the Latent Print Unit at the Boston Police Department since 2005. He started his forensic career in 1996 at Cluj-Napoca Police Department in Romania. Mr. Truta worked in the forensic field of crime scene investigation, forensic photography, and pattern impressions identification (fingerprints, footwear imprints, tool marks, and questioned documents). In 2001, he worked as a crime scene investigator and latent print examiner for the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo. He has lectured on forensic topics at conferences and other professional meetings several times. Mr. Truta served as a member of the Forensics Identification for Standardization Committee of the IAI, and he is a Certified Latent Print Examiner (CLPE), a Certified Forensic Photographer (CFPH), a Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst (CSCSA), and a Certified Footwear Examiner through the International Association of Identification (IAI). He earned a Licentiate Degree in Juridical Sciences (JS) with a concentration in forensic science from LAW School in Bucharest, Romania.
