HOH Music Class Medina-Inspired Project

by Ms. Martorano, Music Teacher

Project:  Song connected to, Evelyn Del Rey Is Moving Away

Ms. Martorano worked with us third grade scholars at HOH to read the book "Evelyn Del Rey Is Moving Away." We were working with our recorders and learning what a round is. We learned a song about making new friends and how you "keep the old" even though you moved away.

Here is a video of our performance...

HOH Spanish Class Medina-Inspired Project

by Ms. Bravo, Spanish Language Teacher

Project:  Designing Outfits for Mango, Abuela, and Me

Ms. Bravo is currently working with 3rd and 4th graders to review Spanish vocabulary related to clothing. Students digitally designed three outfits and are working on labeling them using the appropriate vocabulary.

After reading Meg Medina’s Mango, Abuela, and Me, we decided to create an outfit inspired by the book’s characters, plot, and illustrations.

Students are designing and labeling the outfits using the app, Pear Deck, and our digital copy of Mango, Abuela, and Me.
