Mrs. Kruse's Fifth Grade

Fifth Grade Overview: The following are some of the skills covered in 5th grade. 

Reading/Writing: Referring to evidence in a text to answer comprehension questions. Determining the Main Idea of a Non-fiction text, Identifying text structures; cause/effect, compare/contrast, sequence, and problem/solution. Identifying the theme and author's point of view. Adding to our knowledge of figurative language and vocabulary. Writing essays.

Math:  Multiplying and dividing whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. Using various strategies to multiply and divide multi-digit numbers. Understanding place value of whole and decimal numbers. 

 

About me

Hello! I am Mrs. Kruse and I am so excited to be your fifth grade teacher. I grew up on Long Island in New York, and I love the beach! From my picture, can you guess what movie I enjoy? 

Hiking, running, and reading are some of my hobbies.
