Research in the Action & Cognition Lab incorporates approaches from vision science and grounded cognition to study the ways in which physical actions and environmental affordances affect perception and key components of cognition such as problem solving, memory, and attention. By examining when and why actions influence processing, our goal is to enhance understanding of the mechanisms and representations that tie perception, cognition, and action together.
Interested in joining the Action and Cognition Lab? We are currently looking for enthusiastic students to serve as research assistants. Students in the lab have opportunities to assist in testing, preparing experimental stimuli, and data analysis. Independent research projects and honors theses are encouraged.
