Yes, endowed professorships are part of our reporting process each year. Please write about your work in the last academic year. This can include things like your research efforts, conference attendance, teaching responsibilities, recent publications, or anything else you would like to share with your benefactors. We ask that you not copy your CV as the platform will only accept a maximum of 3,500 characters (approximately 500 words).
Endowed professorship funds are intended to support a named chairholder, providing either salary or discretionary support, or a combination of the two. Impact statements for endowed professorships summarize the work of the named professor over the last academic year. We ask that you provide two to three paragraphs summarizing your teaching, research, and service. We rely on endowed position holders to provide this information each year, as they are best able to speak to their own work.
We ask that faculty and staff refrain from including resumes and curricula vitae in their entirety when writing and submitting impact statements. While you may draw information from your curriculum vitae, it is a best practice to provide two to three paragraphs summarizing your teaching, research, and service from the past fiscal year. The reporting platform (Ascend) will only accept a maximum of 3,500 characters or approximately 500 words.
Please only include the publications from the specified fiscal year (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025).
While you may certainly use this information to inform the content of your annual impact statement, Stewardship & Donor Relations does not have direct access to other reporting content produced through individual divisions and colleges. Your impact statement will be utilized in a report providing financial and impact information to University benefactors, relative to funds they have established or supported at the University. This is a primary and well-received component of benefactor stewardship at Notre Dame and we are thankful for your help in providing this detailed information.
